Wexford Plantation opened in 1982. The developer, Marathon Oil used the Governor’s Mansion in Williamsburg VA, the Congressional Club in Washington DC, and the Cloisters in Sea Island GA as influences to make this one of the most exclusive sites on Hilton Head Island. They had an acute awareness of the unique natural beauty of the land and a desire to preserve it. Located on the south end of the Island, these 505 acres consist of 525 homesites. Due to Wexford's central location along the Atlantic Coast, boaters have easy access to ports from Maine to the Caribbean.
