If you talk with anyone that has recently moved you’ll likely hear about the stress they experienced during the moving process. But the truth is if you prepare for your move well in advance you can avoid many of the pitfalls the cause people stress along the way.

On the day you decide you’re going to move, start sorting through your belongings to purge yourself of anything you don’t need or use. Throw out anything that is broken and anything that hasn’t been used in over a year. This is the time to get rid of the furniture you never really liked or have grown tired of. You probably have family members that would be thrilled to have it, if not then donate it to charity.

Make the time as you’re packing to clean everything you’re bringing with you.
