Hilton Head Real Estate featured in the Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal recognizes that Hilton Head Real Estate is attracting second home buyers again. The Wall Street Journal recently printed the article “Vacation Homes: Why It May Be Time To Buy.”  It states that the luxury segment is picking up even though in many regions prices are still unstable.  Many brokers in the luxury home Hilton Head featured in Wall Street Journalmarket are reporting more inquiries than in the past two years. Hilton Head Island was grouped with other resort communities like The Hamptons, Palm Beach and Aspen as a stabilizing market that is attracting second homebuyers again. It also goes on to state "The Blue Chip market consists of a handful of spots where prices have stabilized and could soon rebound as sales pick up.  Some, such as Hilton Head, have benefited from tough restrictions on building, which kept inventories manageable during the bust. Prices there have risen 4% during the last year."

It also stated “Five years after housing's peak, markets that once were out of sight even for well-heeled buyers are now in range. On Hilton Head Island, S.C., a three-bedroom home nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Calibogue Sound changed hands in April for $750,000, after having sold for $1.2 million in June 2006.”  It is a great time to take advantage of affordable prices. Buyers are taking heed.

According to the National Association of Realtors survey in May, 80% of second homebuyers purchase for consumption reasons (to live in and enjoy).  Hilton Head Real Estate is always a good investment. It is a great time to purchase a second home or rental property and enjoy your investment with your family and friends while it is appreciating. Start your Hilton Head Real Estate search today.

Hilton Head REALTORĀ® vs FSBO

There are many factors to think about when considering purchasing a For Sale by Owner (FSBO) instead of using a Hilton HeFor Sale by Owner Hilton Head Islandad REALTOR ®. In today’s market, most people are looking to save money on every transaction. For Sale by Owners or FSBO may sound attractive to purchasers. Purchasers have the mindset that the seller may discount the price since a commission is not being paid. This is usually not the case. FSBO’s are often times overpriced because homeowners don’t have access to do a competitive market analysis that REALTORS ® can offer.  A REALTOR® can get you accurate, complete and relevant information about housing values and the market in general. They have the expertise to interpret the data.

Hilton Head Real Estate amenities PLUS Forbes reasons to buy a house now - why wait?

Hilton Head Real Estate

Hilton Head Island real estate is always an appealing purchase. Add the Forbes reasons to purchase real estate now, it just makes good sense. According to a recent article by Forbes, the next few months may be the best time to buy. Waiting for both the housing prices AND interest rates to fall may not be a good strategy for potential buyers since analysts don’t expect any significant declines in these two most important home buying factors.  Some of the most noteworthy reasons:

1)      Lowest Housing Prices in Years!  Nobody really knows when the housing market will hit bottom, but the prices are at their lowest levels in years. You can gamble that they may go lower (and they might), But while you are waiting, you are missing out on a lot of good times that can be had with your Hilton Head real estate. Is it worth the gamble to wait?Hilton Head Island Foreclosures
2)      Interests rates are at a 50- year Low.  By the second week of May 2011, 30 year fixed mortgages had fallen to their lowest rates of the year at 4.63%.
3)      Interests rates are expected to go up. As the economic recovery gains momentum, interests rates are expected to increase making mortgages more expensive
4)      Motivated Home Owners Want to Sell.  Bargain prices are abundant with many existing homes under water or in foreclosures. (Look for Hilton Head foreclosures for even better deals)

Don’t waste another day waiting to see if the prices are going to fall further!  Look for that perfect piece of Hilton Head real estate so you can start enjoying your investment.

As most Hilton Head Home owners know and understand, it is a unique place to call home or have a second or vacation rental property. Hilton Head Island is known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and preservation of the natural environment.  Sea Pines Plantation was the original planned development that set the standards of preserving the natural beauty for the remainder of the Island. Hilton Head Island is unique in its development of not over commercializing the Island through its land use planning. By purchasing and setting aside substantial tracts of land to be used for amenities or open space areas, Hilton Head Island has been able to remain one of the most attractive places to visit or live.
