Harbourtown in Sea Pines Plantation

One of the enjoyable aspects of living at Harbourtown in Sea Pines Plantation is the opportunity to walk to so many outstanding events. Besides The Heritage Golf Classic and the advance showing of the Concours d'Elegance, I was able to see the 40th annual Calibogue Cup sailing race, right from the pier in Harbourtown.

This year’s Winners Cup, The Island Packet Trophy, was presented to Domenico DeSole, captain of The Slingshot and racing out of the South Carolina Yacht Club. This year, the race offered 3 classes: The Spinnaker Class, The Non-Spinnaker Class and The Harbor 20 Class.

Sea Pines Real Estate Search

In your Hilton Head Island real estate search, you'll hear a lot about Sea Pines—home of the island’s iconic red and white striped lighthouse and site of the annual Heritage PGA Tour golf tournament.  The private resort and residential community, which includes gorgeous beaches, oceanfront homes, elegant villas (condos) and three golf courses, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Amenities at The Sea Pines Resort include a beach club, stables, several swimming pools, a nature center and a 600-acre forest preserve for hiking, fishing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. Harbour Town, where the lighthouse is located, is a center of island activity with shops, dining and a marina. In the summer, entertainer Gregg Russell sings and plays guitar for all ages under the magnificent Liberty Oak.  The history of Sea Pines is centered around Charles Fraser, who is sometimes called the inventor of the modern American resort. As a young visionary developer, he designed t-shaped roads which allow many homeowners direct access to the beach, and built houses that blend into nature rather than stand out. YourHilton Head Island real estate search isn’t complete unless you get to know Sea Pines.
