This just in!! The Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament that takes place in Harbour Town, Hilton Head Island SC just announced earlier today there will be 3 international additions to the play list.

Luke Donald originally from England, Stephen Ames orginally from Trinidad and Trevor Immelman originally from South Africa will all compete in the 42nd annual Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament April 12-18th, 2010. "Get Your Plaid On" Party Tonight in Harbour Town

The Chamber of Commerce for Hilton Head Island-Bluffton teamed up with the Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association to creat the first Chamber Golf Week (www.ChamberGolfWeek.com). It started earlier this week and tonight from 5-9PM at the Quarterdeck restaurant in Harbour Town will be hosting a "Get Your Plaid On" Party.

The Quarterdeck will not be charging a cover charge and the night will include: live entertainment, a Best Dressed in Plaid contest, special menu, and prize giveaways.

State to Help Pay for Heritage?

According to a recent Island Packet news article, SC lawmakers are trying to find a way to continue to fund the Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament held at Harbour Town Golf Links in Sea Pines Plantation. It was previously announced that Verizon would no longer return as the tournaments lead sponsor.

What the state is proposing would be a loan taken out by the Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department that would help promote tourism i.e. Heritage Golf Tournament. It has already been approved by the House of Ways and Means Committee, however still needs to be added to their budget.

This year marks the tournaments 42nd year and is as much a part of Harbour Town as it is Hilton Head Island and all Beaufort County. Learn more about the tournament and tickets at www.verizonheritage.com/
